LASG ANNOUNCES TRAFFIC DIVERSION AT BREWERY, IJORA, GASKIYA, DOCKYARD LEVEL CROSSINGS
The Lagos State Government has said that traffic will be diverted Brewery, Ijora, Gaskiya, and Dockyard Level Crossings for night maintenance work from Monday 26th to Thursday 29th July, 2021.
A statement signed by the Commissioner for Transportation, Dr. Frederic Oladeinde, disclosed that the level crossings will be closed daily from 8p.m till 6a.m to check for any damage caused by the heavy downpour that occurred recently.
On Monday night, July 26, motorists heading towards Surulere and other areas from Brewery will be diverted, through Costain and National Theatre Bridges, to Bode Thomas and its environs or could alternately use Costain Roundabout to link Iponri and Alaka to connect Stadium and Ojuelegba, or travel beneath Stadium to access Inner Surulere. Road users can equally utilise Costain Roundabout inwards Iponri to link up with Iponri Estate and access Bode Thomas.
During the maintenance of Ijora Police Station level crossing on the night of Tuesday, July 27, road users are advised to make use of Gaskiya Road to gain access under Ijora 7up bridge axis and its environs from Safejo axis.
Furthermore, on Wednesday, July 28, during the maintenance works of Gaskiya level crossing, motorists will be diverted to Orile to link the National Theatre Bridge to access Ijora 7up underbridge axis and its environs or, alternately, use Ijora Police Station level crossing as an alternative route to access Ijora 7up axis and its environs.
On the last night of repairs, Thursday, 29th July, motorists will be diverted to a contraflow lane during the rehabilitation of the Dockyard Level Crossing. The contraflow traffic will enable motorists have access to their desired destination.
Road users are, therefore, advised to comply with the directives, while traffic enforcement personnel and road signals will be available to minimise inconveniences.
The Lagos State Government appeals to residents, especially motorists, to make use of the alternatives to ease traffic flow during the repair works.
