The federal government has declared Friday 15th and Monday 18th April 2022 as public holidays to celebrate this year’s Easter.
This is contained in a statement on Tuesday signed by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, Shuaibu Balgore on behalf of the Minister of interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola.
The minister charged Christians to emulate the love, kindness and peace preached and practiced by Jesus Christ.
Ogbeni Aregbesola also called on Christians and all Nigerians to use the occasion to pray for an end to insecurity in the country.
He also encouraged Nigerians to support President Muhammadu Buhari in his determination to bring sustainable development and usher in prosperity for all.
Good Friday marks the day Jesus Christ was killed and Easter Monday commemorates the day he was resurrected.
