Remolanders condemns attack on Banks , sues for peace
Following Monday’s attack on Banks which resulted into loss of properties over the scarcity of cash in Sagamu, Ogun Sate ,a social and non governmental group, Remolanders has condemned the attack .
The group in a statement signed by its President, Olaleye Olanrewaju said it condemned the wanton destruction of public properties just as it appeals to the people especially the youths to embrace peace in Sagamu and its environs .
The group also lauded the efforts of Akarigbo of Remoland,Oba Babatunde Adewale Ajayi for his quick intervention by ensuring that the incident did not spread to other Remoland
“The Exco and the entire members of Remolanders have observed with dismay the events of Monday 20th February 2023, that led to the destruction of banks and other public facilities, an action we condemn in its entirety.
“The various sights and sounds that came out of the events of the day are one we will want to forget in a hurry. We sympathize with the people of Sagamu and Remoland in general on the current scarcity of cash and the hardship faced by Nigerians as this has made life less desirable in recent times.” It said
The redesigning of the Naira notes by Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) late last year has attracted condemnation by some Nigerians.The new notes have been scarce in circulation since they were introduced into the financial system on December 15, 2022, and have largely been unavailable even in commercial banks
