Delta police recover fabricated pistols from a “Keke NAPEP” passenger
Operatives of Delta State police command have. nabbed a suspected armed robber who was a passenger inside a tricycle otherwise known as Keke NAPEP.
A statement from the image maker of Delta State police command, DSP Bright Edafe made available to newsmen disclosed that the suspected robber identified as Joseph Vincent
was arrested during a stop and search duty by the police
“On the 9/4/2023 at about 1000hrs, Operatives of Dragon 18 and 29, while on stop and search duty along Jeremi/Iwhrekan road in Ughelli South LGA, intercepted a tricycle with Reg. No. GBB 022 UN driven by one Isreal Sibito ‘m’ 58yrs conveying three females and one male passenger. While search was being carried out, the male passenger who was later identified as Joseph Vincent ‘m’, age 24yrs jumped down from the tricycle and ran into a nearby bush in an attempt to escape, he was given a hot chase by the operatives and arrested.”
DSP Edafe also disclosed that when a search was conducted on him, two (2) locally fabricated berretta pistols were recovered from the suspect and said Investigation is ongoing.
“While the Command remains committed in its core mandate which is the protection of lives and property, members of the public are advised to exercise patience when they are subjected to stop and search by police operatives as it is for the collective good and to ensure a safer Delta for all.”he said
