Interconnectivity: NCC resolves Glo , MTN differences

The previously existing debt disagreement concerning interconnectivity between MTN Nigeria Communications Plc and Globacom Limited has now been resolved.

The collaboration between both companies took place during the 21-day extension granted by the NCC to Glo in January. At that time, 61.54 million mobile subscriptions on Glo’s network were in danger of losing the ability to make calls to MTN. However, this risk has now been resolved.

The Nigerian Communications Commission has made this known in an official statement signed by the Director of the Public Affairs Department, Reuben Muoka, on Thursday.

In January, the NCC issued a statement informing Glo subscribers that they could potentially be prohibited from making phone calls to MTN lines because the interconnect charges have not been resolved.

According to the information provided, the directive mentioned that it could potentially become effective after a 10-day notice period.

However, the commission later decided to extend its notice by an additional 21 days after the initial expiration date. This adjustment aims to keep the audience informed and considerate of the context.
