OGUN NUJ MOURNS VETERAN KOLADE OLANREWAJU

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ogun State Council has lamented the loss of a veteran member of the profession, Mr. Kolade Larewaju who died on Thursday, December 12,2019 describing the death as a great loss to the union at the state and national levels.
Caretaker Committee Chairman of the union, Mr. Kayode Taiwo in a statement wrote, ‘Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ogun State Council received with deep sense of loss, and heavy hearts the sudden transition of one of our senior colleagues, Comrade Kolade Lanrewaju.
The statement added that, the demise former Ogun State Correspondent of Republic Newspapers and Vanguard Newspapers respectively and later Special Assistant on Media to the former Deputy Governor, Prince Segun Adesegun, was a loss too many particularly at a time the Union needs candid advise and support of it’s avalanche of veterans.
The union noted that the deceased as a vibrant journalist known for his doggedness in news reportage and knack for feature writings, and was an active member of the State Council until he was appointed to the Political assignment.
‘Comrade Kolade Larewaju, known for his doggedness in News reportage and knack for Feature writings, was an active member of the State Council until he was appointed to the Political assignment’, the statement emphasised.
‘At this trying time, we condole with his immediate family, his Political family and the entire body of Nigeria Union of Journalists. May his soul rest in perfect peace. Adieu Omo Ola’, the union caretaker committee Chairman wrote.
The late journalist breathed his last at the Federal Medical Centre(FMC),Idi-Aba, Abeokuta, while as at the time of filing this report, his remains had being deposited at the morgue of the hospital, awaiting family burial arrangement
