Arewa Group Accuses Senator Ndume of Creating Crisis, Calls for Expulsion
By Emmanuel Kwada
The Arewa Progressives Forum for Good Governance (APFGG) has publicly condemned Senator Ali Ndume’s actions, accusing him of stirring up unnecessary crisis and undermining the National Assembly.
In a a statement signed by Chairman Mal Ibrahim Musa Bichi, the group expressed disappointment in Ndume’s failure to reach out to President Bola Tinubu privately instead of criticizing government policies for personal gain.
Ndume, a member of the ruling party and representative of Borno South Senatorial District, was criticized for his blanket allegation that National Assembly members are thieves, deemed disparaging and unacceptable.
Lawmaker’s role is not about seeking attention but making laws that benefit citizens.
The group questioned Ndume’s effectiveness, citing his inability to attract meaningful development and projects to his constituency and state. They noted his history of antagonism, which led to his suspension during Senate President Saraki’s era and his removal as Senate Chief Whip due to relentless public criticisms of President Tinubu and the ruling APC.
The APFGG emphasized that a lawmaker’s role is not about seeking attention but making laws that benefit citizens. They called for Ndume’s expulsion and declaration of his seat vacant, citing his consistent antagonistic posture and lack of tangible contributions to his constituency.
