Akwa Ibom mourns as Elder Gabriel Emmanuel (late) will be laid to rest
Grace Udoh Uyo Late/Elder Gabriel Emmanuel Nkanang, the father of Udom Gabriel EMMANUEL, Governor of Akwa Ibom State, would be laid to rest on Wednesday the 15th January 2020 at Awa Iman Community in Onna LGA of Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria. The burial was shifted from 14th to 15th January, 2020 due to the Armed Forces Remembrance Day Celebration.
Late Pa Nkanang died on Sunday 1st December 2019 at the age of 90. Before his demise, he was an educator, a Head Master and a great teacher who committed himself to educating, training and developing children and youths, in his community to become better leaders. Mr. Nkanang and his family are strong members of Qua Iboe Church, Nigeria before the factional change of name to United Evangelical Church (UEC), the faction to which he identified. As devoted Christians, he was very active in the faith. This commitment helped him and his family stay strong and united, while weathering through the storms of life.
The State is set to witness deluge of visitors including Governors, former governors, Ministers, members of the National Assembly, high ranking political office holders, foreign dignitaries, members of the diplomatic corps, and captains of industries as preparations are in the final stage to give last respect to this great educator who have produced one of the great leaders in this generation, Udom Gabriel Emmanuel , the incumbent governor of Akwa Ibom state
