Abdul Imoyo , Access Bank’s Head,Media Relations is dead

 

The Head of Media Relations of Access Holdings Group, (parent company of Access Bank Plc), Abdul Imoyo is dead.

His death was confirmed by his family on Sunday in a statement signed and released by Tunde Imoyo.

Imoyo, a quintessential corporate media manager and Journalist joined Access Bank in 2014.

He had also worked in the Public Relations Unit of the United Bank for Africa (UBA) before joining Access Bank.

Imoyo was also the Finance Editor of BusinessDay between May 2004 and July 2010.

He was a serving Executive Committee (Publicity Secretary) of the Association of Corporate Affairs Managers of Banks (ACAMB) before his demise.

According to the family statement, Imoyo died at the early hours of Sunday, December 17, 2023, at the First Cardiology, Ikoyi Lagos, after a brief illness.

“It is with deepest sorrow that we inform you of the death of our beloved husband, father, brother and uncle Abdul Kolawole IMOYO, who went to be with the Lord in the early hours of 17th December 2023 after a brief illness.

“We are taking some time as a family to grieve over our loss at this time.

“We thank you for your prayers and support.

“Further announcements will be communicated in due course,” the statement reads in part.

President of ACAMB, Rasheed Bolarinwa confirmed the sad development when contacted.

Bolarinwa described Imoyo’s passing as a big loss to ACAMB while calling for prayers for his family.

“When ExCO received the news of his death early today, we were all devastated but we needed to grant the immediate family the right to formally announce his passing as a matter of right to his memory and best practice in protocol in such circumstances.
On behalf of your ExCO and the entire Association, I express my condolences to our late Colleague’s immediate family; the entire IMOYO Clan; ACCESS HOLDINGS Group & ACAMB as a body on this loss,” Bolarinwa said in an emotional laden voice.

Meanwhile, friends, colleagues and well-wishers have been mourning his demise on social media platforms.

The deceased attended the Lagos State University (LASU) between 1998 and 2002 where he bagged a B.Sc in Public Administration and later attended the University of Lagos (UNILAG), where he bagged his Master of Business Administration (MBA).
