Acting IGP Seeks Rehabilitation Of Police Barracks
The acting Inspector-General of Police, Usman Baba, on Tuesday requested the Police Trust Fund (PTF) to help rehabilitate dilapidated police barracks across the country.
Baba solicited the support of the PTF for the housing challenges facing the police as well as training and provision of equipment for better policing.
He made the request in Abuja when he received a delegation of the PTF on courtesy call, led by the Secretary of the Fund, Aliyu Sokoto.
Responding, Sokoto said Nigerians would soon begin to feel the impact of the Fund after the signing of the N74bn 2021 budget currently before the National Assembly.
He said the Fund was ready to assist the Force in achieving its vision, especially in the areas of equipment purchase and welfare and others highlighted by the acting IGP
