Assault :Falana to defend septuagenarian against suspended Ogun Monarch in Court

Human rights lawyer , Femi Falana SAN has disclosed that his chambers will defend a septuagenarian, Elder Areola Abraham against the suspemded Ogun monarch,, Oba Semiu Adewale Ogunjobi the Olorile of Orile Falsna made this disclosure while receiving the National Vice President of the Committee for the Defence of Human Rights, Comrade Yinka Folarin, in Falana & Falana’s Chamber at Adekunle Fajuyi, GRA, Ikeja on Wednesday. .
Critical voice news report that the monarch had sparked outrage after a viral video surfaced showing him verbally and physically assaulting Arinola.
In the footage, some men with Ogunjobi were seen slapping the elderly man and forcing him to kneel and prostrate.The incident led to widespread condemnation.
Falana assured the victim that his fundamental rights would be upheld and that the chamber would provide the necessary legal assistance. Comrade Soyombo Sunday, a former chairman of CDHR Ogun and a human rights investigator, was also present during the audience.

In a related development, ,the Committee for the Defence of Human Rights has gotten a hint about the suspended Oba Semiu Ogunjobi’s inability to meet his bail conditions. Investigations revealed that Oba Ogunjobi provided a false name, “Abdul Semiu,” in his extrajudicial statement to the police, which was then reflected on the charge sheet. This discrepancy has made it impossible for him to perfect his bail.
Accordingto a statement by CDHR signed by its National Vice President Yinka Folarin, , this development may also be viewed as a case of perjury, as Oba Ogunjobi allegedly lied under oath about his identity in court yesterday. His real name, “Semiu Adewale Ogunjobi,” is listed on his national identity card and bank details
