EFCC Officers Arrested For Assaulting Female Hotel Staff In Lagos
The Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ola Olukoyede has raised a Disciplinary Team to tackle the case of alleged assault on a female staff of Regional Hotel, Ojo, Lagos by two officers of the Commission.
It was earlier reported last week that the chairman ordered for the arrest of the two officers who were sighted in a viral video manhandling the female staff of Regional hotel.
The order for the arrest was revealed through a press statement by the Commission’s spokesman, Dele Oyewale.
In his words: “The EFCC’s boss has also ordered detailed investigations of the operation carried out at the hotel and assured that appropriate disciplinary measures would be taken against any of the officers found to be culpable.”
He also assured that the EFCC Chairman EFCC would uphold the rule of law in carrying out his duties.
Meanwhile, in another press statement issued on Sunday by the spokesman, he highlighted that the EFCC Chairman had directed that the two officers whose names were not revealed, are to appear before a joint Disciplinary Team.
He explained that the team comprises the Appointment, Promotion and Disciplinary Committee (APDC) and the Department of Ethics and Integrity.
Oyewale said: “They are billed to appear before the Team on Monday, July 1, 2024 at the Corporate Headquarters of the Commission, Abuja.
“The Team would look into the case of the officers and recommend appropriate disciplinary measures to be taken against them.”
He added that Olukoyede would leave no unturned in getting the officers to account for their unprofessional conduct.
