Eid-el-Kabir: Senator Tokunbo Abiru Distributes Food Items To Constituents.

The Chairman, Senate Committee on Banking, Insurance and Other Financial Institutions and the Senator representing Lagos East Senatorial District, Senator Mukhail Tokunbo Abiru has distributed bags of rice and other food items to his constituents with a call for them and other Nigerians to exercise patience with the government of President Bola Tinubu, as the far-reaching policy decisions of his administration will soon start producing desired results

The senator, in his Sallah message, emphasised the need for Nigerians irrespective of cultural or religious backgrounds to co-exist peacefully with everyone.He also reiterated his commitment to the pursuit of laws, programmes and interventions that will improve their quality of life, and that of all Nigerians.

According to the special adviser on Media to the Senator , Enitan Akinkoutu , the food pack programme will further cushion the impact of the hardship on Lagos East residents amidst other interventions of the Federal Government in ensuring food security and commodity price stability and various interventions by Lagos stat3 Government.Enitan also appealed and urged the beneficiaries to use the items judiciously


One of the beneficiaries, Iyaafin Modupe Adetoro expressed appreciation for Senator Abiru’s gesture which, she said, he always gives during festive periods.Items distributed include bags of rice, bags of Beans , gallons of vegetable oil, among others.

It will be recalled in May, barely less than 30 days ago , Senator Abiru in a bid to boost food production in Lagos East Senatorial District, facilitated farm inputs, containing fertilisers, seedlings and herbicides, for over three hundred local farmers in the agrarian communities of the district for the planting season.The National Agricultural Land Development Authority (NALDA) provided the farm inputs through the intervention of the Senator.

Senator Abiru has so far disbursed more than N150 million Naira in about 24 months to over 2,500 vulnerable people under his COVID-19 Financial Relief Scheme. Every month, beneficiaries received direct credit of N5,000 each for the period the programme lasted.
