Europa: Emery face sack after Arsenal defeat to Frankfurt
Arsenal manager Unai Emery is in serious trouble of being sacked after his side were beaten at home by Eintracht Frankfurt in the Europa League.
Emery insisted after the 2-1 defeat that he is still thinking about Sunday’s Premier League trip to Norwich, but the Gunners boss is running out of time.
The Spaniard also said that he was positive after the defeat, but he appreciated that fans were disappointed with the result.
When asked whether he fears losing his job, Emery said, “I’ll analyse the match, and I’m thinking about the next match.”
TNG reports, that the Arsenal board members are set to meet to discuss the crisis at the Emirates.
Boos also rang out when Eintracht Frankfurt took the lead as two-goal Daichi Kamada helped the visitors stage a second half fight back after Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang had given Arsenal a first half lead.
Emery noted that although the team lost, there were some positive signs throughout the match.
