FG reassess elementary education curriculum to align with national ,international standards
The Federal Government has begun a thorough reassessment of the elementary education curriculum in order to make sure it meets the changing requirements of the nation and international benchmarks.
Dr. Yusuf Sununu, the Minister of State for Education, made this announcement while inaugurating a workshop in Abuja focused on revising the technical examination syllabus.
He stated that the strategic decision was made to improve the standard of education, promote analytical thinking, and provide students with the essential abilities to succeed in a fast-changing world.
The minister underscored the significance of having a strong educational base, noting that the existing curriculum needed revisions to align with the modern educational needs and ambitions of the nation.
He said, “The world is changing rapidly and our education system must keep pace with the changes.
“We need a curriculum that not only imparts knowledge but also develops the critical thinking and problem-solving skills of our young learners.
“This review will involve key stakeholders, including educators, parents, and industry experts, to ensure a holistic approach to curriculum development.
“The Federal Government remains committed to improving the quality of education at all levels and believes that this curriculum review is a critical step towards achieving that goal.
“By equipping students with relevant skills and knowledge, the government aims to build a brighter future for the next generation and contribute to the nation’s overall development,”
