Four fear dead as Driver Crashes Into Soldiers In Lagos, Army reacts

Four soldiers attached to the Myoung Barracks in the Morocco area of Shomolu in Lagos are feared dead, while others sustained injuries after a suspected drunk driver crashed into them.

It was gathered that the soldiers were doing their morning marching parade when the incident happened Friday morning.

According to reports, the Toyota vehicle had three young men as the occupants.

The young men tried to escape but were caught, beaten, and had their vehicle vandalized.

An X user identified as @CaesarisOP attributed the cause of the accident to over speeding.

“Armies were doing their morning marching parade this morning at Shomolu (Morocco), Lagos.

“Some boys were over speeding killed 4 military personnel.

“I wasn’t allowed to take pics cause the area was restricted. The accident aren’t looking nice at all,” CaesarisOP wrote

Meanwhile,the 81 Division of the Nigerian Army has confirmed the accident involving the  suspected drunk driver and its personnel

The Division’s spokesman, Lt.-Col. Olabisi Ayeni confirmed the unfortunate incident in a telephone interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Friday in Lagos.

According to him, the sad incident is confirmed, but investigation is ongoing to determine the extent of the damage caused by the accident
