LAGOS SET TO HOST WORLD-CLASS FOOD FESTIVAL
…Festival To Promote Food Security, Rev Up State’s Tourism Potential
The Lagos State Government, through the Ministry of Agriculture, is set to host the 2022 edition of the Lagos Food Festival in line with the vision of the state government to promote food security and showcase the food industry of the state on a global stage.
The festival is a world-class all-inclusive event designed to positively project the diverse angles of the food industry by connecting various businesses involved in the production and sale of food-related items to a Lagos audience of food enthusiasts.
It is a platform for food enthusiasts, regulatory authorities, industry players, and the general public to meet under one roof, and has been designed by the Ministry of Agriculture under the leadership of Ms Abisola Olusanya to give credence to the Agricultural Value Chains where Lagos has a strong comparative and competitive advantage.
It takes into cognizance the diversity of food requirements in line with the multiple ethnicities and nationalities of the people of Lagos and is also characterized by a wide variety of seafood, meat, and poultry foods exhibitors who will be showcasing and selling food products ranging from fresh products and organic groceries to dry foods, confectionary, and pastries, ready to eat consumables and drinks.
Besides, the Lagos Food Festival offers culinary experiences such as food tastings, cooking masterclasses with renowned chefs, outdoor grills, and thrilling entertainment, while also providing the platform to showcase the tourism potential of the state to a global audience.
As part of this year’s event, the Ministry of Agriculture has listed some artists to make it a memorable festival. They are Sean Tizzle, Alternate Sound, Laolu Gbenjo, among others.
The event, which holds on 11th December 2022 at Muri Okunola Park, Victoria Island, will be co-hosted by Lafup and Tolani, while there will be an opportunity to win exciting prizes.
