MAN APPREHENDED FOR CHILD ABUSE

A 24 years old man by the name Badmus Folarin has been arrested by men of Ogun state police command for wickedly maltreating a 10 years old boy living with his family.
Folarin was arrested following a distress call received by the DPO Owode Egbado division, SP. Olabisi Elebutte from the concerned neighbor to the family who reported through a telephone call that they were hearing a screams and crying in pain of a young boy at no. 12 Elegushi street, Owode Yewa area of the state.
Consequent upon which the DPO detailed the patrol team to the scene where the young boy was seen in pain, helplessly with serious injury all over his body and buttocks.
It was discovered that the suspect had put a knife on fire and when the knife was red hot, applied it to the buttocks of the young boy thereby inflicting a second degree injury on the innocent boy.
Hence, the suspect, Badmus Folarin was arrested while the minor was rushed to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.
Upon interrogation, the suspect alleged that the victim who is living with his family opened and consumed a tin of beverage (Milo) belonging to the suspect’s mother and that the mother asked him to punish the minor.
Commissioner of police, Kenneth Ebrimson in lieu of the above, has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspect to the Anti Human Trafficking and Child Labour unit of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence department for further investigation and possible prosecution.
