RAILWAY MODERNISATION PROJECT: Lagos closes PWD/Ikeja GRA, Brewery/Iganmu Level Crossing

In continuation of the Nigerian Railway Modernisation Project (Lagos-Ibadan section) extension to Lagos Port in Apapa, the Lagos State Government will restrict movement of traffic through PWD Level Crossing in Ikeja GRA on the 10th of January 2020 and Brewery Level Crossing along Iganmu axis on the 11th of January, 2020 from 8:00 pm to 6:00 am.
A statement issued by the Ministry of Transportation said alternative routes will be provided for road users during the course of construction to enable easy movement of motorists to their various destinations.
The release advised motorists plying Ikeja axis to access their destinations via Ilupeju Level Crossing towards Ikeja via Old Abeokuta Expressway while commuters driving along Iganmu axis inward Surulere should make use of Costain and Orile-Iganmu corridor, Bode Thomas Street and Eric Moore Road.
Lagos State Government also appealed to residents, especially motorists driving along these corridors to bear the temporary discomfort as the project is aimed at achieving a seamless multimodal transport system with modern infrastructure in the State.
