Troops Repel Bandit Attack, Rescue Kidnapped Victims in Zamfara

The troops of Operation FANSAN Yanma successfully repelled an attack by the notorious bandit kingpin, Kallamu, and his heavily armed gang in Garin Abara, Isa Local Government Area (LGA) of Zamfara State.
Military sources disclosed that the bandits, led by Kallamu, were first spotted regrouping and assembling in the Zangon Malam area, situated in the eastern part of Gatawa. This advance allowed the troops to prepare for a confrontation.
A heavy gun battle ensued when the troops confronted the bandits, forcing them to retreat. However, during their escape, the bandits abducted eight residents from the village. In a swift response, the military pursued the fleeing bandits and successfully rescued four of the kidnapped victims.
Tragically, one villager was killed after being struck by a stray bullet during the intense firefight.
The military operation continues as troops intensify efforts to track down the remaining abducted victims and apprehend the bandits responsible for the attack.
