Restoring Hope of Sight

On 25th October, 2017, checking on one of my Secondary(High) School mate, whom we all know to be vibrant on our “Old Student” WhatsApp group for her unavailability on our platform. I was shocked to the marrow, by her response “Ore, cataract ti gba oju lowo mi o” meaning ” Friend, cataract has made me go blind”. My Further enquiries on what was needed, she told me she needs money to be able to conduct her cataract surgery-Money she does not have to do the surgery.
To God be the Glory, the surgery was conducted on the 2nd November, 2017. These promising mother of two is now bubbling with lots of love and life as she is the bread winner of her home.

My personal encounter with my friend opened my eyes to see that lots of people in our society needlessly go blind from avoidable causes.

Kindly join me in doing on the spot assessment of the life of a blind man/woman. Please genuinely get yourself blindfolded and navigate through your entire household without any assistance. How easy is it going to be? Your guess into the life of the blind will be good as mine.

This arouse a passion in me in 2017 to help in “restoring hope of sight” to our indigent citizenry. I personally have been able to help with the conduct of 243 cataract surgeries, and 41 pterygium surgeries.

Eyes are the windows to the soul. They don’t lie. They show the truth, no matter what face you put on. Just like body language, our eyes say more than we ever could with words.

The eyes can tell you a lot about another person’s emotional state. When you meet someone for the first time, the best way to get to know them is to look them in the eyes and observe what feelings they convey.

Is the feeling you see in people’s eyes around you are that of hope in sight for a better or positive tomorrow?

On these premise, it will be a great honour if you can partner and support our vision of “Restoring Hope of Sight” to as many who are not financially bouyants to take on the surgeries that would have made them go blind permanently. Our joint partnership will culminate in impacting on more lives in and around us.

Thanking you in advance as we partner together …

Sincerely yours
