TEACHER ARRESTED FOR KIDNAPPING A MINOR

A 29 year old teacher, Odugbesan Ayodele Samson has been arrested by men of Ogun State Police Command for kidnapping his 8 year old former pupil,Rasaq Akeeb on Tuesday, November 4,2020.
Mrs. Fatima Akeeb ,mother to the pupil was said to have lodged a complain at Ajuwon divisional headquarters that her son went to school at the Arifanla area of Akute had did not return home at about 6:00pm.
According to the state public relations officer, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, while she was considering what to do she got a phone call from an unknown person who asked her to be ready to pay the sum of 200, 000 if she wishes to see her son alive.
“She stated further that the caller told her that the boy was brought to him by somebody and he will not release him until the said amount is paid.” DSP Oyeyemi said.
The DPO Ajuwon division, SP Andrew Akinseye therefore directed his detectives to embark on a technical and intelligence based investigation which led to the discovery of the suspect’s hideout.
In order not to harm the victim, the suspect was lured out with part payment of his demanded ransome and he was subsequently apprehended.
The suspect who was shocked upon his arrest, confessed committing the crime during interogation but blamed his action on the devil.
He eventually took the police detectives to where he kept the victim,Rasaq Akeeb who was rescued unhurt.
Meanwhile, the commissioner of police CP Edward Awolowo Ajogun has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspect to anti kidnapping unit of the state criminal investigation and intelligence department for further investigation and prosecution.
Ajogun also appealed to parents to always be mindful of their children’s movement to and from school so as not to make them an easy prey to wolf in sheep’s clothing.
