Two Soldiers Killed, Two Injured as truck rammed into a military vehicle in Oyo

A fatal accident along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway has claimed the lives of two soldiers, while two others sustained injuries after a Mack truck rammed into a military escort vehicle.
Eye witnesses account revealed that the incident occurred at about 1:30 a.m. on March 29 at the Adeojo Sawmill area. The crash involved a Mack truck with registration number MKA 590 ZD (Kaduna) and a Nigerian Army Buffalo Gun Truck.
Captain M.A. Mohammed of the Army’s Supply & Transport Corps, Apapa, Lagos, who led the military convoy, told police that they had parked at the location to conduct a routine check when the truck suddenly crashed into their vehicle from the rear, crushing the gun truck.
Four soldiers sustained injuries and were rushed to the University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan. Sadly, two of them succumbed to their injuries while receiving treatment, while the other two remain in stable condition.
The truck driver reportedly fled the scene immediately after the accident.
Police operatives have commenced an investigation, with efforts ongoing to track down and arrest the fleeing driver.
